Description
Bright chartreuse foliage lets Sedum rupestre Angelina form a colorful low mat across sunny garden edges, gravel beds, rock gardens, and containers. Small yellow star-shaped flowers rise above the foliage in summer and attract bees and butterflies.
Plant it in full sun or partial shade with lean, well-drained soil. Water regularly during the first growing season, then let the soil dry between waterings and fertilize sparingly. The spreading stems can trail over a low wall or container edge.
No routine pruning is needed, although spreading stems can be trimmed to keep the mat within bounds. Watch for occasional slugs and snails, and avoid wet soil. Sap may irritate sensitive skin, and eating large amounts of the leaves should be avoided; wear gloves when handling.
