Description
Pachysandra terminalis Green Sheen is a compact evergreen ground cover selected for its unusually dark, highly polished foliage. Short upright shoots carry thick, coarsely toothed obovate leaves, while small white flower spikes appear in spring and may continue into early summer.
Established colonies typically stand about 15-30 cm high and spread 60-90 cm through underground runners. The dense, reflective leaf canopy brings year-round structure to shaded beds, banks, and the ground beneath roses or shrubs without relying on conspicuous flowers.
Plant in partial to full shade in loose, humus-rich soil that is moist yet well drained. Space plants about 20 cm apart for a continuous cover, water during establishment, and trim runners that stray beyond the intended bed. Propagate from softwood cuttings or rooted divisions.
