Description
Gray-green evergreen rosettes give Yucca glauca year-round form in sunny gravel gardens. Mature plants lift cream bell-shaped flowers on upright spikes in summer.
Give it full sun and well-drained chalk, loam, or sand. It tolerates dry, rocky soil and drought, but it cannot survive waterlogged conditions.
The flowers attract butterflies and support the pollinating yucca moth. Needle-sharp leaf tips can puncture skin, and root saponins are hazardous to dogs, cats, and horses.
