Description

Acer palmatum Crimson Queen creates a low, broad, cascading crown for courtyards, woodland gardens, patio containers, rock gardens, and waterside planting. Fine palmate leaves divide into narrow, deeply incised lobes and hold a crimson to red-purple colour through summer before turning bright red and orange in autumn.

This slow-growing deciduous shrub brings delicate texture to small spaces and works as a specimen near a patio, pond, stream, or large rock. Small purple spring flowers add close-up detail, while smooth brown to grey-brown branches remain largely screened by the layered foliage. Hakonechloa, Astilbe, and Rhododendron make naturally compatible companions.
