Description
Rhododendron Haaga forms a dense, upright evergreen shrub with a rounded outline and glossy dark-green leaves. Dome-shaped clusters of deep pink, openly funnel-shaped flowers carry dark red spotting on the upper lobes, creating a clear late-spring to early-summer display.
Its mature scale of about 1.5 to 2 m makes it useful in shaded borders, woodland gardens, and informal groups. The flowers attract hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees, while the evergreen foliage keeps the planting substantial beyond the bloom period.
Choose partial shade and acidic, organically rich soil that stays evenly moist but drains freely. Shelter the shrub from drying wind, mulch the shallow root zone, and water during dry spells. Remove dead wood and shape only after flowering when necessary.
