Description

A wide mat of aromatic foliage and magenta-pink flowers makes Geranium macrorrhizum Bevans Variety a practical ground cover for sun or shade. Its semi-evergreen leaves turn red and bronze in fall, while rhizomes spread beneath shrubs and along border fronts.

Once established, the plant tolerates dry shade and needs little care beyond removing old leaves and spent stems after bloom. It grows in most well-drained soils but should not sit in waterlogged ground.
