Description

Astilbe Montgomery forms a compact, mounded clump of finely divided foliage that opens red-bronze and matures darker beneath dense, fluffy red flower panicles. Its upright plumes bring rich color and fine texture to moist, shaded borders.

Grow it in partial or full shade in fertile, consistently moist soil that still drains well. Add compost regularly, water before the soil dries, and divide established clumps when vigor declines.
