Description
Repanda common juniper spreads into a dense, low evergreen carpet with thin horizontal branches layered closely over the ground. Soft short needles sit in whorls of three and remain dark green through the growing season.
Cold weather brings a restrained bronze cast to the exposed foliage, adding winter interest without changing the plant’s low, even structure. The broad mat works well on slopes, in rock gardens, and along sunny edges.
Grow it in full sun or light partial shade and any freely drained soil, including dry sandy or chalky ground. Water during establishment, avoid waterlogging, and allow ample room for the slow-spreading branches.
