Description
Heuchera Paprika is a compact clump-forming perennial grown for bold, changing foliage. Large rounded leaves have gently lobed, ruffled margins and clear palmate veins. They emerge rose-orange to coral-red in spring, develop warm orange and pink tones with a pale white veil in summer, and deepen toward burgundy later in the season. The leafy mound reaches about 20 centimetres high and 40 centimetres wide, while burgundy stems lift small white bell-shaped flowers to roughly 30 centimetres in May and June.
Grow Paprika Coral Bells in partial shade or sheltered sun in fertile, humus-rich soil that drains freely while retaining some moisture. Space plants about 40 centimetres apart and keep the crown at soil level rather than burying it. Water regularly during establishment and hot spells, but avoid soggy winter ground. A thin spring compost layer is sufficient. Remove tired leaves before new growth, deadhead after flowering if desired, and divide clumps every three to four years. Check container plants for vine weevil and maintain airflow to reduce rust.
