Description
Phenomenal lavender combines a dense rounded mound of silver-green foliage with sturdy violet-blue flower spikes that remain upright. Its fragrance, long display, and drought tolerance suit sunny paths, borders, gravel gardens, and containers.
Plant it in full sun in sharply drained chalk, loam, or sandy soil. Water deeply but sparingly while roots establish, then reduce watering and protect the crown from winter wet.
Trim damaged growth lightly in early spring and remove faded stems after flowering without cutting into old wood. Flowers, leaves, and stems may cause mild nausea if eaten in large quantities, so avoid consuming large amounts.
